Abstract:
The conception of human right has been evolving over a period of time taking
many forms that cater to the current demands and challenges from society.
However, in some decades, there has evolved a third generation of human rights
or collective rights, which accepts the collective interest of communities and of
humanity at large. Considering the context of Bangladesh, the adoption of these
rights has drawn serious attention mainly because of the special socio-economic
and environmental vulnerabilities faced by the country as a whole. Third general
human rights speak to be need to respond to some current global challenges like
environmental degradation inequality and the disempowerment of indigenous people.
Realization of third generation rights in Bangladesh is also hampered by a lot of
issues such as corruption, week institutional capacity and poor enforcement of
existing laws which have impeded progress in a number of areas such as
environmental protection, sustainable development, and rights of indigenous peoples.
The originality of this research comprises scrutiny of third generation human rights.
Since these rights provide a basis for crucial collection action among countries
battling problems regarding sustainable development.
