Abstract:
n Bangladesh, dower has always been the most highly valued factor when it comes
to marriage, dating back to the early Islamic era. In Bangladesh, the idea is
commonly acknowledged as the fundamental method of marriage. Shariah dictates
that it is the wife's right as a symbol of security and dignity, but social customs
largely governs it. Shariah regulations are no longer as important as the needs of
the modern world. Differences can be seen these days between theory and practice.
The primary goal of this research paper is to determine and examine the causes of
the massive dower fixation in the Bangladesh region. The rise in marital conflicts,
the extent of dower in marriage, and the ensuing legal crisis will all be covered in
this paper. SPSS software is used to analyze the questionnaire setup and in-depth
interview that were conducted using both research methods. The entire Bangladesh,
Bangladesh Judge Court, and Nikahnama Registry Office are covered in the
thorough discussion. Statutory laws, author discussions, case laws, judicial rulings,
articles, social customs, and respondent perspectives come after data collection and
analysis.
