Abstract:
Consumers are one of the most important parts of a business system. Consumers are people who
use the products and services offered by companies. Consumer protection is also important to
improve the business world. Along with the Internet and the Web, traditional business has
expanded to an electronic platform. People are more and more attracted to online shopping. E-
commerce is the most convenient and efficient way to shop to save time. E-commerce websites
have made it possible for people to get clothes, electronics, food, groceries and more at their
doorstep. E-commerce in Bangladesh is helping a large number of unemployed people to become
self-sufficient. The research method is based on the doctrinal method. This article uses secondary
data. Secondary data is collected from books, precedents, journals, articles, research papers etc.
In addition, information is collected from some articles published in Bangladesh, India and the
United Kingdom based on consumer protection in the e-commerce era.
It is imperative to establish robust consumer protection systems in light of the ongoing
transformation of the retail scene by e-commerce. This paper looks at how consumer protection
is evolving in light of Bangladesh's expanding e-commerce industry. In addition to examining
the current legal framework, regulatory measures, and enforcement mechanisms aimed at
preserving consumer rights, the study looks at the particular problems and opportunities posed by
digital markets.
This review adds to the ongoing debate about consumer protection in the digital age by providing
comprehensive information for businesses, consumers, regulators and legislators. The findings
are intended to serve as a road map for a comprehensive and flexible consumer protection
framework that takes into account the unique opportunities and challenges presented by
Bangladesh's ever-changing e-commerce environment.
