“Suicide and Youth: A Socio-Legal Study in the Context of Bangladesh”

Abstract

n order to determine the problems in our legal system, this research interprets laws and regulations. Depending on others' collected data, this research will recommend some changes in our legal system. The objective of this paper was to deliver a narrative comprehension of the current state of suicide in Bangladesh by drawing upon pertinent literature. This study will investigate laws, cases, books, journals, previous research, and websites in addition to conducting a complete analysis of the available literature on suicide among youth. This study overviews the provisions regarding suicide in the Penal Code, other provisions involving suicide, and other legal norms and examines social perspectives and the provisions. Examining such, this study will explore the practical application of the provisions, its opportunities, and also its drawbacks. The research elaborates the potential conflicts in the penal code. This paper will contain knowledge and comprehension of the potential and obstacles involved in achieving a successful outcome in Bangladesh, which will make it easier for stakeholders and legislatures in Bangladesh to decide how to prevent youth suicide in Bangladesh.
