dc.description.abstract Aquaponics is a food production method that combines the traditional hydroponics with aquaculture in a symbiotic relationship that facilitates a sustainable system with necessary input as all the water and nutrients within are re-circulated in order to grow terrestrial plants and fish. This technique of agriculture can possibly replace other traditional methods if brought in use effectually. And when traditional aquaponics meets the technology, remarkable outcomes could become visible. The artificial intelligence (AI) based aquaponics monitoring system features to monitor pH value, temperature and plant height, water level using the pH sensor, temperature sensor and ultrasonic sensor respectively. Then after perceiving those values from the sensors, the values were stored on the ‘ThingSpeak’ server. According to a Wi-Fi module the output signal from Arduino Uno will be passed to ‘ThingSpeak’ cloud, which will be coupled with the sensors is programmed using an Arduino Uno. In order to introduce technology to the traditional aquaponics system, use of Arduino Uno microcontroller and AI in the system has been done. This system identifies the characteristics of water quality from the cultured goldfish tank and the effect of plant’s distribution on the wastewater quality, also the effect of plant’s growth. The results found the ideal range of temperature 22°C to 27°C and ideal range of pH 5.5 to 6.8. Therefore, aquaponics has ample scope of enhancement of sustainable food production, especially in adverse geographical context of Bangladesh. en_US
